The 10th anniversary of the Boulder International Film Festival will be held in Boulder, Colorado on February 13- 16, 2014.
Named one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” in the world by MovieMaker Magazine, the Boulder International Film Festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to Boulder every President’s Day weekend for a four-day celebration of the art of cinema. BIFF has developed a reputation as one of the most influential young film festivals in the U.S., with an extraordinary number of new-but-unknown feature films, documentaries and shorts that have gone on from early screenings at BIFF to significant box-office success and multiple Oscar nominations.
BIFF attracts over 20,000 film enthusiasts, media, and industry each year. We have been proud to host and celebrate some of film’s most talented artists, including award-winning actors like Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, William H. Macy, Blythe Danner, Maria Bello, James Franco, Peter Fonda, and Chevy Chase. Many other independent film artists and special guests have been honored including Oliver Stone, Lawrence Kasdan (the Big Chill), Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Michael and Mark Polish (Northfork), Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree Congressman John Lewis (Freedom Riders), and writer John August (Big Fish).
Located at the foot of the stunning Rocky Mountains, easy-going Boulder Colorado is a traditional magnet for the tech-savvy, music & film-loving outdoors-person who also likes to party. Along with a major University film school, there are hundreds of miles of running, skiing and hiking trails, world-class restaurants, hotels, galleries, shops and bars, all surrounded by the scenic 46,000-acre moat of Boulder Open Space.
